Setting up your classroom at the start of a new school year is one of the most exciting things a teacher gets to do. Your classroom door and welcome display are the very first things your students and their families will see – and a warm, beautiful welcome sets the tone for the whole year ahead.
If you have been dreaming of a jungle safari classroom theme, I have something special for you today. I am sharing a completely free jungle safari classroom welcome poster and coordinating welcome bunting printable – three poster designs to choose from, so you can pick the one that works best for your space.
Keep reading to grab your free download and I will also show you exactly how to use these in your classroom.
What is included in this free printable?
This free PDF download includes a welcome poster set plus the welcome bunting set – all designed in the same coordinating jungle safari style.
The welcome posters – 3 designs
You get three different welcome poster variations so you can choose the one that best matches your classroom color scheme:
Design 1 – Coral pink with safari animal friends. A warm coral-pink background featuring a sweet group of kawaii safari animals in the corner – a lion, giraffe and elephant peeking through tropical leaves. The words “Welcome to our Class” are written in a beautiful script font. This one is warm and inviting, perfect if you love a pop of color on your walls.

Design 2 – White polka dot with cheetah cub. A crisp white background with soft grey polka dots and an adorable cheetah cub. This is the cleanest, most neutral of the three designs – beautiful if you prefer a lighter classroom aesthetic or if your walls are already quite busy with other displays.

Design 3 – Teal with baby elephant. A bright, cheerful teal background with a little elephant and lush tropical greenery. This design ties in perfectly with the teal color that runs throughout the full jungle safari classroom collection and looks stunning as part of a coordinated display wall.

The welcome bunting
The matching bunting spells out “Welcome” in coordinating pink, green, teal and yellow pennant flags – each with a bold letter in a fun outline font.

Tips for displaying your jungle safari classroom welcome poster
Where to hang the welcome poster
The most popular spots for a classroom welcome poster are:
- Your classroom door – greeting students and families as they arrive each morning
- Above your whiteboard or smart board – as a permanent feature at the front of the room
- On your main display wall – as the centrepiece of a larger classroom theme display
- In your reading corner – to create a cosy, welcoming space for independent reading time
If you are printing for a door display, consider printing at a slightly larger size. Most home printers can print at A3 if you select “poster” or “tile” printing mode in Adobe, which splits the design across two A4 sheets that you tape together at the back.
How to use the bunting
The welcome bunting looks stunning strung across the top of your whiteboard, along a display board border or in front of your desk. For a really polished look, use natural jute twine – it complements the jungle theme beautifully.
You can also mix your welcome bunting with leaf garlands, paper flowers or other jungle-themed decorations to build out a full display wall.
Laminating tips for teachers
Laminating your classroom printables is one of the best investments you can make – a laminated poster will last for years and wipe clean with a damp cloth. Here is what works best:
- Use a hot laminator for wall displays rather than self-adhesive cold pouches – the finish is cleaner and more durable.
- For bunting, laminate the full sheet before cutting out the individual pennants – this is much easier than laminating small pieces individually.
- Use 125 micron pouches for posters and 80 micron pouches for bunting flags – the thinner pouch keeps the bunting slightly more flexible for stringing.
